- EU radio equipment rules (RED): Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular products are radio equipment in the EU: the CE marking rests on the Radio Equipment Directive (radio, safety and EMC tests) instead of the low-voltage rules, internet-connected devices must meet the cybersecurity requirements (from 1 Aug 2025), and phones, earbuds, headphones, speakers, keyboards, mice and similar devices need a USB-C port for wired charging (laptops from 28 Apr 2026). - EU: a responsible operator in the EU for electrical products and toys: Electrical products under the EU’s CE rules for radio equipment, hazardous substances (RoHS), EMC, low voltage and batteries, and toys under the Toy Safety Directive, may be placed on the EU market only if an economic operator established in the EU is responsible for them: the importer, an authorised representative or a fulfilment service provider. If you sell to EU consumers yourself, through a marketplace or your own shop, appoint one before listing; an EU importer that buys from you takes this role. - Germany: register electrical products (ElektroG): In Germany electrical and electronic products can be sold only once the producer is registered with stiftung ear for that equipment type and brand, with the number on offers and invoices; marketplaces may not list products of unregistered producers. A German importer buying from you registers as producer; selling there yourself without a German branch needs a German authorised representative.
