This is not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so confirm with the official source and a local authority, your importer or an expert before you sell.
- Main rule for food supplements & preparations: Malaysia: health supplements must be registered with NPRA (Ministry of Health) before import or sale and carry a MAL number; the registration holder must be a company incorporated in Malaysia (registered with SSM), so your Malaysian importer or subsidiary applies. Claims follow NPRA’s three levels (general, functional, disease risk reduction), and labels may not use pictures that hint at other effects (NPRA’s example: a ginseng root drawn as a body part). If you are unsure whether your product is a supplement or a food, NPRA classifies it on request. npra.gov.my, checked 2026-10-15, npra.gov.my, checked 2026-10-15
