• Main rule for cosmetics: Brazil: only a Brazilian company with a local operating licence and ANVISA's company authorisation (AFE) to import cosmetics can bring them in, and it holds the product's registration or notification, so your importer or distributor files it. Sunscreens (children's ones too), tanning products, hair straighteners, perms, hand antiseptic gels and insect repellents need ANVISA registration, published in the Official Gazette and valid for 10 years; other cosmetics need only a prior notification in ANVISA's system before sale, also valid for 10 years (RDC 752/2022).
