Duty and FTAs: Korean-origin goods enter Australia duty-free under the Korea–Australia FTA (KAFTA, Schedule 10 of the Customs Tariff); claim it with proof of Korean origin. GST of 10% is paid on the customs value plus international transport, insurance and duty. • Australia AICIS registration for cosmetics: Whoever imports cosmetics or soap into Australia for sale registers the business with AICIS before the first import, whatever the volume, and renews each registration year (1 Sep to 31 Aug); every ingredient must be on the AICIS Inventory or categorised, with an annual declaration. • Australia sunscreen rules (TGA): Sunscreens sold mainly for sun protection are therapeutic goods in Australia: an Australian sponsor lists each product on the ARTG and prints its number on the label, and your factory needs TGA-accepted GMP evidence. Moisturisers claiming SPF 15 or less, tinted foundations and SPF lip products can stay cosmetics, but every SPF claim must be tested to AS/NZS 2604.
