• Main rule for spirits (incl. soju): Vietnam: only a company holding an alcohol distribution licence may import alcohol of 5.5% ABV or more, and only through international border gates (Decree 105/2017, article 30; Decree 17/2020). Every imported bottle carries an electronic stamp issued by Vietnam Customs (Circular 23/2021), and the importer adds a Vietnamese label before sale (Decree 111/2021). Advertising drinks of 15% ABV or more, standard soju at about 16% included, is banned; below 15%, ads carry a health warning and online ads and sales must keep out under-18s (Law 44/2019, Decree 24/2020).
